The Flying Elvis’

The Flying Elvis Lacrosse club has been a competitive adult men’s
team for the last 12 years. Founded by David Gearhardt, the Elvis’ have
been compiled from players around Memphis that have played lacrosse at
the collegiate level. An Elvis appreciates a competitive challenge
while participating in a sport they always have enjoyed.
The Elvis’ have competed in tournaments like the Ocean City
Invitational in OC, Maryland; the Music City Tournament in Nashville,
TN; the Steve Tournament in Atlanta, GA; the Magic City Tournament in
Birmingham, AL; and the Mardi Gras Tournament in New Orleans, LA. The
team has defeated opponents to win championships against notorious
clubs like the Green Turtle Club, the Southern Empire Club, as well as
other teams compiled of players from various talent pools from
Charlotte, Atlanta, and Nashville areas.
We have held players on our roster from various leagues across the
country like the MLL, the NLL, as well as All-World teams. Many of the
players have played NCAA lacrosse at all levels, whether D1-3, and some
of the founding members have competed for championships in what is the
current-day MCLA. In 2009, the first ever Flying Elvis U-15 boys team
was compiled. This team will grow to expand into the U-16 & U-17
teams for years to come, and will be made up of “Elite” players from
the Memphis, TN area programs.

The Flying Elvis Mission
The goal of the Flying Elvis Elite team is to travel to regional and
National events participating in competitive recruiting tournaments. If
you are “hoping” to play lacrosse in college, traveling with the Flying
Elvis Lacrosse Team will offer you exposure at the early years when
recruitment is vital. We will compete in college recruiting tournaments
that will cater to our players skill set. Competing against the best
clubs in the country will attract the best coaches in the country to
possibly offer opportunities to compete at the next level. With these
opportunities comes the chance of scholarship offers from some of the
major colleges in the country. We are a special group of people and
players. Each of you are hand picked as both lacrosse talents and as
individuals who’s high moral values represent not only our Elvis team
and organization, but also your families and community.
To be a member of the team, you must pledge yourself to a higher
accountability that demands you be a better person than you are a
player through example and a standard of conduct at all times. You must
represent all aspects of the game, and you must be willing to live this
Mission Statement: Be willing to challenge yourself to achieve
excellence in both practice and play, and compete with “heart” in all
possible opportunities, even when it seems impossible.
